SOUTH BEND - Joseph R. Greer, 54, passed away early morning on Oct. 4, 2016.

Life is only a passing day! He stepped from mortality into eternity. He was loved by many, full of life, he loved his family and he was always the peacemaker. He had a smile that would light up the room.

Joseph R. Greer was born on April 19, 1962, in South Bend, IN, to Mildred K. Greer and Harrison Greer. He was the tenth of twelve siblings. He attended Riley High School. He always kept his faith in the Lord. He attended Rhema Word International Outreach Ministries with Pastor Steven Reed. Joseph was a hard-working, faithful and loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was employed at Map of Easton in Granger, IN. He lived in Seattle and worked for BFI.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Mildred Greer; a brother, Henry C. Greer; two aunts, Rose Ella James and Ester M. Hill; his uncle, James Greer; a nephew, Anthony Echols; and a brother-in-law, John Jamerson.

Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters, Tequila Shanice Pearson Greer, Talia Greer and Nicole Greer; one son, Joseph R. Greer, Jr.; three grandchildren, Nyla M. Byrd, Brian B. Pope II, Ryan Lewis, and one to be expected on Oct. 30, 2016 (Joseph R. Greer II); five sisters, Della Martin, Celestine (Robin) Tarvin, Patricia A. (Matthew) Greer, Leslie A. Jamerson, Tonya (John) Matthews; five brothers, Raymond (Lewania) Chatman, John W. Greer, Harrison J. (Stella) Greer, Sr., Anthony (Lori) Greer and Calvin (Freda) Greer; his companion, Eileen Wade; special friend, James Jennings; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Pentecostal Cathedral COGIC, where the Pastor is Bishop Donald L. Alford, Sr. The viewing will occur at The Cathedral from noon to 1:00 p.m.
