SOUTH BEND - James E. Altic 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Sun City, AZ. on October 16, 2016. He was born on August 5, 1932 to Clarence B Altic Sr. and Carrie P Hart in Winamac, IN. He was raised in South Bend, IN. and graduated from Riley H.S. in 1951. In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country honorably for 4 years during the Korean War. In 1957, he married the former Patricia A. Seeley of South Bend, IN. and together they had 3 children. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 1960 with a degree in Education and worked as a teacher, coach and athletic director. In 1981 he moved to AZ. where he had a second career in property management. He loved living in sunny AZ. as his passion was golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Donald Altic; his sister, Katherine Raissle; and a brother, Claris Altic. Jim is survived by his longtime companion, Marilyn B Brice; his former wife, Patricia A Altic; 2 daughters, Rhonda (Stanley) Swaim and Kimberly (Thomas) Lindell; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Altic, Lauren Swaim and Andrew Swaim; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence (Phyllis) Altic Jr. A Memorial Service will be at 10 am on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Regency Mortuary, 9850 W Thunderbird Blvd, Sun City, AZ. A private interment arranged by The Neptune Society will be at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers please donate to The National Kidney Foundation .
