SOUTH BEND - Mr. John Earl Erby, 62, of Pear Rd., So. Bend, IN, passed away Feb. 21, 2017. He was born May 31, 1954, to Bonnie and Naomi (Holder) Erby, who both preceded him in death.

John graduated from Riley High School in 1972. He worked as a welder for Uniroyal, Wheel Horse, Bosch and Abtrea. He married Edmunda Fay Harper on Nov. 1, 1975.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Edmunda Fay Erby; two daughters, Melanie Erby and Jessica (Dominic) Ellis; one son, John (Victoria) Erby, Jr.; three grandchildren, Jael Ellis, Dominic Ellis and Jaya Erby; four sisters, Mary Rordak, Carol Erby, Mildred Erby and Tracy Erby; four brothers, Willie (Marion) Erby, Bonnie (Shirley) Erby, Jr., Marvin (JoAnn) Erby and Tony Erby; two aunts, Dorothy Holder and Mary Ellis; along with other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sat. Mar. 4, 2017, at Alford's Mortuary, with viewing occurring from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Alford's Mortuary.
