Robert C. Reed

August 1, 1924 - April 7, 2018

MISHAWAKA - Robert C. Reed passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 7, 2018 at his home with loving support of his family. Robert was born on August 1, 1924, in Niles, MI. He was 93 years old. On October 16, 1982, he was united in marriage to Marlene Anderson.

Along with his wife, Marlene, he is survived by his son, Allen Reed; three daughters, Pamela Hardy, Luann (James) Vance, and Dawn Stachowiak; four grandchildren, Bryan (Amanda) Hardy, Bradley Vance, Jeffery Vance, and Mandy (Aaron) Monegan; three great-grandchildren, Brandon (Ariel) Hardy, Morgan Hardy, and Bayden Vance; and one great-great grandson, Levi Hardy. Robert is also survived by his step-children, Scott (Wendy) Anderson and Darla (Joseph) Selvin; six grandchildren, Danielle (Travis) Faulkner, Derek Anderson, Adam Woodward, Kate (Jason) Fischer, Nicholas Woodward, and Alexandria Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Owen and Triston Anderson, Aiden and Emma Faulkner, and Gentry Fischer; great-great-grandson, Aiden Tangerma; and a special niece, Gerry Lilly. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bob retired from Bendix Corporation after 36 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish, but deer hunting was his passion. He especially loved to hunt with his grandson, Jeff. Bob never knew a stranger and no complaints were spoken. He loved babies, little children, and animals. His little baby girl, Missy-Bischon dog will miss him so much!

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Mark Black will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 12:30-2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
