Carlos S. Monroe
Carlos S. Monroe, 57, of 621 W. Marion, was dead on arrival at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb 16, 1975, at St. Joseph Hospital, where he was taken by the police ambulance. He had been ill for a year. Monroe was born in Chrisney, Ind., and had resided in Mishawaka for 50 years, coming here from Chrisney. He was a self-employed plasterer and contractor in the Mishawaka area for several years and later was employed for seven years at the Mishawaka Farmer's Dairy
On June 23, 1942 in Seattle. Wash., he married Kathryn Lathrop who survives. Also surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Richard Demetz of South Bend; a son, Carl E. of Mishawaka; five grandchildren and two sisters. Mrs. Carl Dunlap of Mishawaka and Mrs. Lawrence Chapin of Florida.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel_ Memorial contributions may he made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society. Monroe was a veteran of World War II and held membership in Mishawaka Post 360, Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge 1262, Loyal Order of Moose; Aerie 21153. Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Donmoyer Church of Christ, South Bend.
