SOUTH BEND - Donald G. Orban, Jr., 60, of South Bend, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, with his loving and caring family at his bedside at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Don was born on August 15, 1957 to Donald G. and Judy (Hoff) Orban, Sr. in Mishawaka, IN. On April 1, Don married Pamela R. Lowell, formerly of Royal Oak, MI. Don and Pam were married for 34 years. Don is survived by his loving wife, Pam and their daughter, Meagan (Bryce) Dudka. Don is also survived by his mother, Judy Hoff Orban Henthorn; and his siblings, Dennis (Kathy) Orban, Troy (Michele) Orban, Sr., Melinda (Alfie) Land, and Donna Orban, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his father, Donald, Sr. Don is also survived by his faithful four-legged companion, his rescue dog Rickey.

Don graduated from Riley High School in South Bend, IN (class of 1975), and attended Indiana University South Bend. Don served in the United States Air Force; he received honorable discharge in November 1977. Don was employed as a Quality Manager for Marson International, LLC until the time of his death. Don was a talented cook who enjoyed hosting holiday meals for his family. Don loved fishing and boating on Big Barbee Lake in North Webster, IN, where he, Pam, and Meagan vacationed for 20 years.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., with the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. officiated by Fr. John Delaney of St. Jude Catholic Parish (South Bend, IN) and Pastor Stanley Dudka of Voice Ministries (Elkhart, IN) on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN.

Burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, IN. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Don's name be sent to the Humane Society of Saint Joseph County.
