Helen (Carey) Weiss Redell

EDWARDSBURG — Helen Weiss Redell, 73, of 23524 South Shore Drive, formerly of South Bend, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Redell was the former owner of Town & Country Camera Shop and was employed by Belleville Comfort Systems.

She was born April 5, 1915, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On April 5, 1940, in South Bend, as Helen Carey, she married Charles Weiss. He died April 5, 1961. On Feb. 11, 1971, in South Bend, she married Raymond Redell, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Weiss O'Reilly of Edwardsburg; and a brother, Robert Carey of Sun City, Ariz.

She was a member of Zonta, the Women's Chamber of Commerce, Four Lakes Country Club and Moose Lodge 599 Women's Auxiliary, Elkhart, and was a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
