SOUTH BEND - June Amm, 91, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. She was born on May 5, 1920, in South Bend, to Raymond and Esther (Kuss) Winenger. She was the youngest of four children.

On February 17, 1944, she married Milburn Leroy "Roy" Amm in the Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, South Bend. June is survived by her daughter, Judy (Brian) Kiel of Mishawaka, IN; three sons, Dennis Amm of Lawton, MI, Jerry (Marcia) Amm of St. Louis, MO, and David (Diane) Amm of Mishawaka, IN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Diana Kiel of Mount Vernon, NY, Don (Amanda) Amm of Lawton, MI, Chris Amm of Lenox, MA, Julie Huxford of Osceola, IN, Danielle (Scott) Dornnhaag of Maryville, TN, Jon Amm and Tim Amm of St. Louis, MO, and Dr. Hope (Adam Steg) Amm of Birmingham, AL; and seven great-grandchildren, Sean, Makinzie, Dylan and Natalie Amm, Bryce and Jillian Huxford and Addison Dornnhaag; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy in May 1980; a son, Donald in 1958; sister, Evelyn Engle; and brothers, Wilbur and Harold "Bud" Winenger.

June graduated from Riley High School in 1938.

For many years she was employed by the South Bend Community School Corporation, working at Monroe and Jefferson schools. She was a longtime member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the church choir. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011, in the First United Methodist Church, 201 E. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, IN. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, North Liberty. The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend.
