Andrew "Andy" Zimmer

January 11, 1963 ~ May 28, 2023 (age 60)

Andrew "Andy" Zimmer, 60, of South Bend, IN, passed away on May 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, due to complications from amyloidosis. Born on January 11, 1963, in South Bend, IN, Andy was a lifelong resident who made a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew him.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Zimmer (Gaugler); his children, Michael (Kristin) Zimmer, Ashley Warren, Gracemarie George, Adam (Jacquelyn) Zimmer, and Victoria (Dane) Orth; and his nine cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Noah, Jaxson, Judah, Gabriel, Jacob, Oliver, Lydia, and Hazel. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Bill Zimmer, and his daughter, Melissa Zimmer.

Throughout his life, Andy was known for his incredible ability to connect with people. As a manager, he was beloved by his colleagues for his wisdom, humor, and analytical skills. His genuine interest in the lives of those around him made him a trusted mentor and friend to many. Andy's engaging personality and quick wit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Andy's dedication to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting the needs of his loved ones first. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments. His unique blend of humor, wisdom, and love will be greatly missed by his family, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

In addition to his successful career, Andy was an active member of his church, Osceola United Methodist. He served on various committees and events throughout his time there. 

Andy's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. His legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we remember Andy, let us celebrate his life and the countless ways he made the world a better place. His laughter, guidance, and love will forever remain in our hearts.  The eagle has landed. 

Visitation is 3-5pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Funeral Service is 11am on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the Funeral Home.
