MISHAWAKA -- Thomas W. McClintic, 32, of West Jefferson Boulevard, died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Medical Center of injuries suffered in a train-vehicle collision Saturday at 30th Street and the Grand Trunk Railroad crossing in South Bend.

Mr. McClintic was employed as an auto mechanic for Rick’s Auto Service Center. He was born July 21, 1962, in Goshen and lived in Mishawaka since 1972, coming from Lafayette, IN. On February 11, 1989, in Mishawaka, he married Kathy (Grall) Strycker. She survives with a daughter, Emily Sue McClintic of South Bend, two stepdaughters, Michelle Strycker and Sara Strycker, both of Mishawaka; a stepson, Bob Strycker of Mishawaka; his mother Mary Ann McClntic of Mishawaka; his father and stepmother, Russie and Terry McClilnic of South Bend; two sisters, Wendy McClintic of Mishawaka and Lisa Whiteman of South Bend; and a maternal grandmother, Cora Esther Kaufman of Myersdale, PA. He was a goalie with the Metro Soccer Club.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call two hours before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Logan Industries or Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
