Zandra Michelle Austin was the second of five children born to the late Mabel Lean Alford on November 24, 1954. A native of South Bend, IN. Wise beyond her years, Zandra was educated in the South Bend Public School System. She attended James Whitcomb Riley High School and later completed business management courses at Ivy Tech College. Zandra departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

For over 28 years, Zandra served people in her line of work. Zandra was an Online Contact Center Representative for The Home Depot, since 2013. Zandra was described as a "highly regarded" among her colleagues, and often recognized for showing initiative, enthusiasm, tenacity, persuasiveness, intense customer focus, and dependability. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Zandra was a resident of Milwaukee, WI where she worked as an Advertising Accounts Specialist for LOR and Associates, Inc. in Brookfield, WI and an Advertising Sales Specialist for the Hispanic Yellow Pages. Prior to that, she worked for Heritage Mortgage Corporation, where she led a team of phone room telemarketing representatives in generating new business for residential and commercial mortgage products and services.

Zandra loved her family over everything. She leaves to cherish the memory of a life well lived, a son: Andre Wilder; two nieces, raised as daughters of her heart: Amber Alford and Laporcha Alford. Grandchildren: Taja Wilder, Chance Wilder, Sasha Lanier, Ahmad Robinson, Jeffrey Robinson and Winter Wilder, Savion Alford, Zion Alford, Harleem Trammell, Zeven Alford, Zyonna Alford, and JaiMyah Sims; Great-grandchildren: Hayden Harding, Harper Harding; a brother, Jeffrey C. Reeves (Myra) of Atlanta, GA, two sisters, Marsha Reeves Jews of Baltimore, MD and Toni Ferguson of South Bend, IN; one aunt, Mary Pat Austin; two uncles: William Austin and Orvester Austin, nieces: Sandi Fischer, Jasmin Reeves, and Philshondra Ferguson; nephews: Jason Reeves, Carlton Reeves, Sir Jarette Gear and Jebril Reeves; great-nieces and nephews, a host of loving cousins, a special sister/cousin: Theresa Hackney, and many special friends, including the Gillem Community Church family, Pentecostal Cathedral C.O.G.I.C. family and The Home Depot.

A Memorial Service to celebrate a life well lived will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Pentecostal Cathedral C.O.G.I.C. located at 1025 Western Avenue, South Bend, IN 46601. All family members, friends, and well-wishers are required to wear face masks to attend.
