Esther M. (Hullinger) Brothers

Esther M. Brothers, 71, of 52180 N. Scott St., died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday in Regency Place. Mrs. Brothers was born. Aug. 11, 1914, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 22, 1934, in Valparaiso, as Esther Hullinger, she married Owen F. Brothers. He died Feb. 20, 1976.

She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Yoder and Karen DeBoever, both of South Bend, Sue Smith of Osceola and Ruth Brothers of Illinois; three sons, James and Richard, both of Mishawaka, and Robert of Fayetteville, Ca.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation.
