WALKERTON — Charles H. Wolfe, 83, residing on South County Road 925 East, Walkerton, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at his home. Mr. Wolfe was a former engineer for the Bendix Corporation, as well as a self-employed farmer. Charles had resided in Walkerton since 1946, after moving from the South Bend area.

He was born on May 29, 1914, in South Bend, to the late James H. and Harriet (Noble) Wolfe. On April 8, 1939, in South Bend, he married Sarah Elizabeth Fulkerson, who also preceded him in death on May 23, 1994. He is survived by a daughter, Susan (John) Ptacek of Columbus, Ind., a son, Edward (Mary Lou) Wolfe of Southgate, Mich.; five grandchildren; a sister, Norma Devitt of South Bend; and by a brother, Claude Wolfe of Florida.

Mr. Wolfe was a member of the North Liberty United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 45, South Bend. and was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the North Liberty United Methodist Church. Rev. Fred Slayton. pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. North Liberty, IN Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Palmer Funeral Home in Lakeville, IN., where St. Joseph Lodge 45, F&AM. South Bend, will conduct Masonic services at 7 p m Friends may also call one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American Heart Association.
