Robert (Bob) Plant, 68, of 19839 Pasadena Ave., died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov 19,1983, in Memorial Hospital after an illness of two years. He was a retired construction salesman and estimator. Born on March 15. 1915, in South Bend, he lived here most of his life.

On Nov. 23, 1941, in South Bend, he married Mary Louise Lindenman. She survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Marsha Plant Healy of South Bend; two sons, Craig of Fort Wayne and John M. of Lebanon, Pa.; six grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Marion Ritter of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m Tuesday in Zion United Church of Christ, with Rev. Mary Lundgren, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. He attended Purdue University, was a member of Young at Heart Club of the church, and served on the board of Evangelism and Visitation of the church.

A World War II veteran, he was a chief warrant officer in the Army IX Corps. Plant was also a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for many years with Troop 502 of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ.
