Nellie (Kane) Walsh, 85, of South Bend passed away on Thursday April 13, 2023 at her home.
Nellie was born on June 25, 1937 in South Bend to the late Chester and Pearl (Willard) Kane. She attended Riley High School and spent 35 years as a machine operator at Raco, retiring in 2001.
A lifetime resident of South Bend, Nellie loved her family. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took great pride in her yard and her flowers. She enjoyed her shopping trips and Friday night fish fry’s with her long time friend; Jean Bolin. She had a big heart and helped every member of her family at some point in their lives. She will be deeply missed.
Nellie is survived by her children; Karen Williams of Sugarland, TX, Tom Walsh of North Liberty, and Ron (Sheryl) Walsh of South Bend. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Ashley, Steve, Lindsey, Richard, and Nick and her great grandchildren; Chase, Ryan, Haylee, and RJ. One brother; Harold Kane of Elkhart also survives.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Shirley Brown, and her brothers; Earl Kane, Carl Kane, Louis Kane, Leo Kane, and Dale Kane.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.
