Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Dobrzykowski) Kujawski

Cynthia “Cindy” Lorraine, age 70, passed away Monday, May 22nd, 2023 at her South Bend home with family by her side.

Cindy was born November 1st, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana to Edward and Lorraine Dobrzykowski. She attended St. John the Baptist Elementary school as well as St Joseph’s High School. Post high school she attended Purdue for her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Pathology, Michigan State for her Master of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology, and Western Michigan for her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

During Cindy’s career in education, she was an Assistant Principal at Riley High School and Navarre Middle School. She transitioned to Coquillard Elementary to serve as School Principal for six years. She completed her career in the position of Speech and Language Pathologist serving in several private, public, day care, and counseling settings.

Cindy always has had a special place in her heart for people with learning disabilities. Her greatest passion was education, specifically reading and speech, for children. In her younger years she enjoyed playing racquetball and tennis with her husband. In most recent years she enjoyed antique shopping, delving into her Catholic faith, and reading to her grandchildren.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lorraine Dobrzykowski as well as her brother Greg Dobrzykowski and brother-in-law John (Chip) Zdankus. Cindy is survived by her devoted husband Paul; daughter, Erin (Stephen) Charlebois with grandchildren Andrew, Hannah and Harper Charlebois; son, Ryan (Marsha) Kujawski with grandchildren Asher, Henley and Nolan. She is survived by her brother Edward (Sue) Dobrzykowski; sisters Jane Zdankus, Lori (Bernie) Rogalski and Liz (Brooks) Grainger, her sister-in-law Teresa Dobrzykowski, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Please join us celebrating her life on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., followed by a Catholic Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Friday, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on behalf of Cindy to the National MS Society and “Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.” Psalms 116:7-8
