Benetta Page (Bracey) - Class Of 1969 VIEW PROFILE

Benetta (Page) Bracey

July 21, 1951 - Jan. 26, 2012
SOUTH BEND - Born July 21, 1951, Benetta Page was the fourth of ten children born to Eugene and Augusta Page. At 4:45 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012, Benetta Bracey went home to be with The Lord. This journey will reunite her with her parents (Dada & MA Dear) and siblings, Eugene, Torrence, Anthony and Marcella, beloved family members who traveled on before her. Benetta was 60 years old.

A lifelong South Bend resident, Benetta attended the South Bend Public Schools and was a graduate of Riley High School.

She was a Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) and worked for St. Joseph Care Center-West until she retired. Benetta was a conscientious and caring person who was easy to love, and willingly shared her warmth and love with others.

She had no children of her own, but she cared for her nieces, Anissa and Sandy, and was an adoptive mother to Avery Lathion and Darnisha Thomas, her nephew and niece, who survive her. Also surviving to cherish her memory are brothers, Robert, Greg, Allen, Paul and James Page of South Bend, and Timothy Page of Freeport, LA. Two sisters, Tracey Jones and Sharon Waggoner, also survive her.

Benetta had many friends whom she counted as her extended family. She remained close to Bessie and Leona Page and Inez Bracey, her sisters-in-law. She relied on and cherished the support of her dear friends, Mary McGee-Flowers, Alice, Ernestine, Doris, Brenda and Shirley McGee, and Joyce Moody. The utmost trust was given to her beloved neighbors, Chris and Javaughn Morrisey, who were there for her in a way that few would understand. Though her circle of friends was great, these were the people she knew she could count on. Benetta is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. You will be dearly missed Benetta, we'll see you when we get there. You behave yourself!

Benetta's funeral is at 12 noon Thursday, with visitation one hour before the service in Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 S. Michigan St. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
