Gaile E. Kelley

NILES - Mr. Gaile E. Kelley, 90, of Miars Drive, died following a brief illness at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. Mr. Kelley was born on March 31, 1917, in South Bend, to William J. and Adelia (Taylor) Kelley.

He had lived in this area all of his life and graduated from South Bend Riley High School in 1935.

Gaile retired in 1979 after 30 years of service from Torrington in South Bend. He enjoyed living on Barron Lake and caring for his dogs. On November 22, 1946, in Mishawaka, he married the former Clara W. Becktold, who survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Patricia G. Kelley of Niles and Peggy Anne Kelly of Orlando, FL; a granddaughter, Leah (Joseph) Henig of San Diego, CA; and his twin brother, Dale Kelley of Wheatland, MO. .

Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kelley, who died in 1999.

The family of Gaile E. Kelley will gather privately for services at a later date. There will be no visitation. Halbritter Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Contributions in memory of Gaile F. Kelley may be made to Hospice at Home.
