Robert J. Palmer

Robert J. Palmer, 73, of 921 S 26th St., died at 7:10 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Palmer re-tired as co-owner of the former Re-liable Dairy Inc. and was employed for 20 years at Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Homes. He was born July 11, 1915, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Dec. 24, 1936, in South Bend, he married Elayne G. Heintzelman, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Gallatin Vaszari of Lakeville; a son, Kent R. of Lakeville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Palmer was a former member of the Lakeville Lions Club and South Bend Kiwanis Club. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
