SOUTH BEND - Richard A. Grimm, 63, passed away at 12:40 AM Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL. He was previously employed with Smurfit-Stone, Mishawaka, currently operating as RockTenn. He was born on September 28, 1950, in South Bend, IN, to the late James and Mary (Kovatch) Grimm, and remained a lifelong resident. On May 29, 1973, in South Bend, IN, he married Joyce Elaine (Redman) Grimm. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 7, 1998; and his daughter, Tamela Lynn Grimm, on November 20, 1998.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Keli Jo Grimm of South Bend; one sister, Kathleen (Tom) Koscher of South Bend; and three brothers, Patrick Grimm of Warsaw, James (Karen) Grimm of Clinton, AR, and Robert (Patty) Grimm of Middlebury.
Richard attended Riley High School, South Bend. He served in the United States Army and was a member of United Steelworkers Union Local #7-1117.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN.
