Eugene "Gene" R. Hudson April 15, 1927 - May 3, 2014 MISHAWAKA - On Saturday, May 17, 2014, we are celebrating the life of Eugene "Gene" Reed Hudson, who left us on May 3, 2014. Gene was born on April 15, 1927, in Rosedale, IN, to the late Roy and Beulah (Fisher) Hudson. He graduated from Rosedale High School in 1945. Gene served as an MP in the U.S. Army in WW II. He attended Rose Hulman University and graduated with a BS from Indiana State University and Master's Degree from Indiana University.

Gene taught Math and Science at Lydick and Nuner Junior High Schools, Math at Jackson High School and Riley High School, and Math at IUSB, as well as coached multiple sports. Gene enjoyed golf, construction, artistic endeavors, boating, travel, and rousing card games.

Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marijane (Morgan) Hudson; his sister, Shirley (Everett) Brown of Rosedale, IN; his children, Jane Ann (Rob) Forney of St. Louis, MO, Tim (Ann) Hudson of Osceola and Ted (Deb Perkins) Hudson of Mishawaka; his eight grandchildren, Alyssa Hudson, Reed Hudson, Evan Forney, Wesley Holbert, Jenna Forney, Mitchell Jacobs, Sara Hudson and Alissa Jacobs; and one great-grandson, Aiden Holbert.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you bring canned goods for a donation to a local food bank. Additionally, please bring a written copy of your favorite memory regarding Gene to the Celebration of his Life at an Open House on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the family home, 15901 Princess Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
