Scott Lingner -->Scott Lingner June 23, 1976 - Nov. 17, 2009 SOUTH BEND - Scott Andrew Lingner, 33, residing in South Bend, Indiana, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 p.m. after a very long and most courageous battle with colon cancer. Scott was escorted by the Angels to be with his Heavenly Father for all eternity. Scott was born on June 23, 1976 to Barbara (Ouellette) Johnson and Edward Lingner in Enfield, Connecticut. In October of 1997, Scott was diagnosed with colon cancer. Through Scott's faith, determination, and love of God, he fought to the very end until God called him home. Scott is finally at peace with no more pain and suffering.

Scott attended Riley High School after relocating to South Bend from Connecticut to be with his mother and his step-father, Ken Johnson in June of 1992.

Scott was previously employed by Big Lots, and Pizza Hutt, on Ireland Road, in South Bend. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame football and NASCAR. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. S

cott was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Pauline and Lionel Ouellette, step-grandfather, Raymond Johnson, and step-uncle, Ronald Wing. Scott's constant and loving feline companion, Simon MacFarland, of 4 years passed away just a few weeks ago.

Scott is survived by his loving and dedicated mother, Barb Johnson and step-father, Ken Johnson of Orkney Drive, South Bend. Biological father, Edward Lingner, Enfield, Connecticut, brother, Michael Lingner, Enfield, Connecticut. Maternal aunt and uncle Patricia and Edward Deguzis of Hartford, Connecticut who were a constant support to Scott and to Barb and Ken during Scott's battle with colon cancer over the years. Step-grandmother, Paulette Johnson of Brookston, Indiana, step-aunt, Raelene Wing of Brookston, Indiana, and step-sister, Brianne Hurt-Johnson of Fishers, Indiana.

A special thank you to "Kim" Johnson, Scott's close friend and care giver for all her support to Scott and the family. And to his close friend, "Vern" who was a dedicated and loyal friend to Scott for many years. God Bless you both! The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the dedicated doctors who were always respectful and kind over the years, they are: surgeon, Dr. Edward Delle Donne (Patty and Roxy); oncologist, Dr. Jose Bufill (Julie and Helene); urologist, Dr. Hudak; Dr. Shagufta Chowan, of Madison Center; all the special people in the "chemo room" at Michiana Hematology Oncology (Kelly, Andi, and Annie); and pain management physician, Dr. Jonathan Eash (Mary, Denise, and Bob).

Special thanks to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care for their support and care to Scott and family. Special thanks to nurse Crissy and Spiritual Care Advisor, Patricia. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Barb and Ken would also like to give a special thank you to their employer, attorney Patrick M. Seese, for his compassion and understanding during the many time that they needed to be away from work for Scott's treatment and care.

The family has honored Scott's request that he be cremated and that there be no services. Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, South Bend, and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
