Donald E. McMillen

DONALD EDGAR McMILLEN, born December 24, 1922 to Edgar Loyal and Elsie Dorothy McMillen in South Bend Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2009 with his family by his side.

Donald graduated from Riley High school, South Bend, Indiana in 1940 and from Purdue University, W. Lafayette, Indiana in 1944 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

He married Norma Lydia Cameron on October 17, 1953 in Durban, South Africa. His son, Andrew, was born in Australia in 1960 and daughter, MaryKatherine in New York in 1962.

Donald joined Standard Oil Development Co in 1947 which is now Exxon Research and Engineering Co. and worked as an Exxon employee for 37 years until retirement April 1984 from the Exxon Chemical Co. Baytown Plant.

Survivors include Norma Lydia McMillen, wife; Andrew Cameron McMillen, son; Steffanie McMillen daughter-in-law; Cameron Adam McMillen, grandson; and Sarah Mia McMillen, granddaughter, MaryKate Berlin, daughter; Kelsey Ann Berlin, granddaughter, and Blake Cameron Berlin grandson all from Spring, Texas; James R. McMillen, brother; Carol McMillen, sister-in-law and many other special nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 2:00 P.M. at Northwoods Presbyterian Church, 3320 FM 1960 Road West, Houston, TX 77068. A reception at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Texas Heart Center at St Luke's Episcopal Hospital, 1101 Bates Ave. Houston, TX 77030.
