March 26, 1961 ~ November 6, 2023 62 Years Old
Kurt G. Petzke, Jr., a lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 6, 2023. Born on March 26, 1961, he was known for his overall passion for cars and auto racing.
Kurt was the son of the late Kurt G. Petzke, Sr. and Patricia Lee (Petzke). He attended Riley High School, where he developed his love for auto racing, especially NASCAR and his favorite racer, Jeff Gordon. Kurt turned his passion into a career, working on cars as an auto body repair technician for the majority of his adult life.
He is survived by his son, Chris (Jennifer) Petzke, and his grandchildren, Chace and Juliette. His sister, Lisa Petzke, also survives him.
Kurt’s interests extended beyond his work and family. In his free time, Kurt could often be found in the garage, working on cars, or cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers. His enthusiasm for racing was infectious, and he was always eager to share his knowledge and passion with others.
