Phillip J. Schumann

January 8, 1954 ~ May 13, 2024

Phillip J. Schumann, 70, a lifelong resident of the Lakeville area passed away on Monday May 13, 2024 at his home.

Phillip was born on January 8, 1954 in Plymouth, IN to the late Paul and Alice (Botset) Schumann. Phillip met and married Deborah Bussell on April 27, 1974, sharing 50 years of marriage this year. Together they have 2 daughters; Michelle Baker and Jennifer (Justin) Ramsey, and 3 grandchildren; Kirsten Baker, Olivia Ramsey and Bryce Ramsey. Also surviving are Phillip’s siblings; Patricia (James) Horvath, and Roger (Elaine) Schumann. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Steven Schumann.  

Phillip was the proud owner of “Peaches,” his 1936 Plymouth Coupe which won him many awards at car shows.  He also enjoyed fishing, growing flowers, carpentry, building trains, and spending time with his family.  Phillip was a “jack of all trades, but master of none”, always there to help anyone who needed it.  He also just enjoyed staying home and Deb’s cooking.
