Peni Lee Farkas, 16, of 1622 E. Dayton, died at 6am today in St Joseph's Hospital after a week's illness.  She was a junior at Riley High School. She was born on September 7, 1961, in Mishawaka and was a lifetime resident of the area. She is survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Farkas of South Bend; three sisters, Jo Ellen Lach of Mishawaka, Debby Umbaugh of South Bend and Tammy at home; two brothers, Michael & Dennis, both at home; her maternal grandmother, Emma Dexter of Mishawaka, and her paternal grandmother, Thelma Farkas of South Bend

Services will be at 11am Monday in the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, with Rev. James Buckley, director of the Pastoral Care Department at St Joseph's Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.  Friends may call from 7 to 9pm Sunday in the funeral home. She was a member of the Riley School girls' volleyball team, the Regal Lanes Travel Bowling League and was secretary of her sophomore class. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley High School Girls' Volleyball Team.
