In true Curtis fashion, Jim's father transposed the first and middle name on the birth certificate. As a child, Jim acquired the nickname "Sunny" from his family due to his always happy disposition. One of Jim's favorite memories was getting up at 4 a.m. and helping the local milkman on his route during the summer. Payment for his services was a bottle of chocolate milk which he drank directly after getting off the truck.
