Lorraine Louise (Smith) Shuey

Lorraine L. Shuey, 86, of South Bend passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2025, at her home.
Lorraine was born on April 4, 1939, in South Bend to the late William and Dorothy (Gilmer) Smith. She married Robert Shuey and shared many years together before his passing. She was also preceded in death by her long-time companion, Walter Bowers.
Lorraine held many positions over the years but her most treasured was to be a mom, grandma, and great grandma.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Cindy Nemeth, Susan (Larry) Heckman, and Phillip (Marci) Ryan. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Michael (Denise) Nemeth, Phillip (Megan) Nemeth, Joseph Nemeth, Ryan (Jessica) Nemeth, Noah Ryan, Elizabeth (Alan) Bullins, Chelsea Ryan, David (Kristen) Heckman, and Cody (Kayla) Heckman. Many great grandchildren also survive as well as her brother, James (Myrtle) Smith.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.
A visitation will be held from 1pm-3pm on Monday October 27, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. Friends are then invited to process to Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend for burial.
