NORTH LIBERTY - Bette J. Hamilton, 76, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014, at her home in North Liberty. She was born on January 31, 1938, in Delight, Arkansas, to the late James M. and Ruby O. (Barton) Whitten. Bette had lived in North Liberty for the past 48 years.
On March 17, 1957, in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Richard C. Hamilton. Along with her loving husband of 57 years, Richard, Bette is survived by her four children: Rick Hamilton of South Bend, Ronald (Tammi) Hamilton of North Liberty, Randi (Carl "Bo") Lawson of Avon Park, FL, and Ryan (Dana) Hamilton of North Liberty. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her brother, William "Bill" (Darlene) Whitten of Mishawaka.
Bette was the Vice-President of Hamilton Body Shop, Inc. of South Bend. She has been a member of the North Liberty United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Indiana Towing and Wrecker Association where she held various positions, and she was a member of the Dreamer's Girls Club of Riley High School.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Pastor Tim Davis will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13th, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel.
