Ronald Bella
May 19, 1934 ~ October 22, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Ronald Bella, at the age of 91.
Dad was born on May 19, 1934 and was a lifelong resident of South Bend. Dad was a proud graduate of Riley High School, St. Edward’s University and The University of Notre Dame. He served our country as a member of the United States Army.
After Dad married our beloved Mom, Shirley, he dedicated his professional career to education and this city’s athletic programs. For many years he served as the Director of Athletics for the South Bend Community School Corporation. Dad also founded the South Bend Hall of Fame and the South Bend Alumni Association. We believe and hope that these organizations will serve as a legacy to him and his professional achievements.
There will be no visitation. A private Christian Burial Mass will be held at a later date. We simply ask that you remember our Dad fondly with a kind word or thought.
