Phyllis Marie (Collier) Cass
Oct. 31, 1927- May 7, 2005
Phyllis M. Cass, 77, formerly of South Bend, died May 7 of natural causes in Orlando, FL, where she had lived for the last two years with her daughter. She was born in South Bend to Ida Mae (nee Hines) and Theodore R. Collier, who preceded her in death.
She married Richard Everette Cass on May 21, 1954, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Nancy J. Cass of Orlando, FL, Richard E. (Kaaren) Cass of Michiana Shores, IN, and Kathleen A. Cass of South Bend; three grandchildren, Emily Anne Cass, Stephen Collier Cass and Andrew Carsten Cass, all of Michiana Shores; four sisters, Esther Hosinski of Mishawaka, Irene Tauber of Marcellus, Ml, Lois (Warren) Harry of Summerfield, FL, and Eunice (Donald) Minich of Ocala, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
One of ten children, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
A graduate of Riley High School (South Bend), Phyllis retired as the office manager of South Bend Valve & Fitting. She was also active in the local Parents Without Partners (PWP) group.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 20, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where friends may call two hours before services. Donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
