Margarette Elizabeth “Josephine” Whiteman

Josephine Whiteman, 67, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 7:37 p.m. Sunday in her home after an illness.

Miss Whiteman retired in 1989 from Dunfee Insurance Agency, South Bend, after 25 years of service as a secretary. She was born Dec. 21, 1927, in South Bend.

She is survived by three sisters, Lois Wilson and Dorothy Kemmerling, both of Mishawaka, and Virginia Hurley of New Port Richey; and two brothers, Max Whiteman of Columbus, Ind., and Harold Whiteman of Rolling Prairie. She was a member of Insurance Women's Association of South Bend and Mishawaka Eagles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
