SOUTH BEND — Bette M. DeMeyer, 84, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011, in the Center for Hospice in South Bend, Indiana. Bette was born December 22, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ellsworth E.and Emma (Eisermann) Steffey. She was a loving mother and partner in her husband’s endeavors.

On August 26, 1950, Bette married Roger DeMeyer, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Deborah (Robert) Kearney of Cary, North Carolina; her son, Michael (Nancy) DeMeyer of Olney, Illinois; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and her fiancée, Matthew, Robert (Rob), Michael, and Nathan;and a sister-in- law, Dorthea.

Cremation has taken place.Arrangements by, Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, Indiana
