NORTH LIBERTY - The family of Wally Jessup has such gratitude for all the prayers that were said for him; he felt and appreciated every prayer. Wally fought an incredible battle with cancer steadfastly, with amazing courage, strength and grace. Toward the end of his fight, Wally had peace in his heart due to his belief in Christ's salvation and the trust that Jesus will be there for his family in his passing.

Family and friends would describe Wally as a kind, compassionate, and personable man with a wonderful sense of humor and unique ability to make others feel comfortable through conversation.

Wally had a passion for many things in his life such as his businesses, projects around the house, and enjoying time outdoors, but none were more important to him than spending time with his family and close personal friends.

Wally was a lifelong resident of South Bend area, graduating from Riley High School. As a young boy, Wally spent much of his spare time with his father, Floyd Jessup, manager of the State Theater, watching hours of movies. Later Wally worked with his father at the Morris Civic Auditorium.

After graduation, he went on to serve in the Army and later became a Captain in the Army Reserves after earning his degree from Indiana University.

Wally went on to build his own successful businesses in Guaranteed Pest Control and Home Pro Inspectors. Through his businesses, Wally forged lifelong mutually respectful and caring relationships with his clients through his hard work, dedication and honesty.

Wally is survived by his wife, Debra, son, Harrison “Deuce” (Holy Cross College), Katie Greene, her husband, David, and daughter, Mackenzie (Raeford, NC), mother, Ellen (LaPorte, IN), brother, Greg and his wife, Vicki (Wichita, KS).
