Herman Lee Wills

March 5, 1953 ~ March 31, 2025 (age 72)

Herman Lee Wills was born on March 5, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Willie and Lucille Wills Sr. He was one of several siblings and shared a unique and special bond with his twin brother, Sherman Wills. Herman attended South Bend Community Schools and was a proud graduate of Riley High School. From an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and became a faithful servant of the Lord, dedicating his life to walking in truth and purpose.

In pursuit of spiritual growth, Herman relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he was deeply influenced by the Word of Faith movement. His hunger for a deeper understanding of the scriptures led him to enroll in the Word of Faith Bible College in Carrollton, Texas, where he successfully graduated. During his time in Bible college, Herman met and married Rebecca Sanchez. From this union, two sons were born—Benjamin and Eric—whom he loved dearly and would become central part of his legacy.

Professionally, Herman worked for many years as a car salesman at Gurley Leep Automotive Dealership, where he was known for his integrity, charisma, and dedication to service. Later in life, as he moved toward retirement, he continued working as an associate at the Walmart Supercenter, where he remained committed and dependable.

Herman's life and legacy will forever be cherished by his sons, Benjamin Wills (Sara) of Atlanta, Georgia and Eric Wills of Duncanville, Texas. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Aryana (21), Aaliyah (19), Elaina (14), Devhan (14), Jaidyn (13), Alicia (12), and Theodore (8). His memory will also be treasured by his siblings: Charles Triplett (Ann) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Larry Wills (Damita) of Mequon, Wisconsin; Curtis Wills (Becky) of Holland, Michigan; Philip Wills (Birgit) of Copperas Cove, Texas; Minnie Wills of South Bend, Indiana; and Phyllis Wills of Houston, Texas. In addition to his immediate family, Herman leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends who were all touched by his kindness, faith, and unwavering spirit.

On Monday, March 31, 2025, Herman transitioned peacefully at his home in South Bend, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Sherman Wills; four sisters: Elzina Henry, Joyce Stafford, Doretha Shelton, and Versie English; and his brother, Willie Wills Jr.

Herman's legacy of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
