Born in South Bend, IN, Ronald's life was a testament to his kind, analytical, and selfless nature, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ronald's journey began as the beloved son of the late Joseph and Betty (Schosker) Nemes. His formative years in South Bend were filled with the love and guidance of his parents, setting the foundation for the remarkable man he would become. After graduating from high school, Ronald answered the call of duty and served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. As a submariner, he displayed exceptional courage and commitment, earning the National Defense Service Medal for his service.
Upon returning to civilian life, Ronald embarked on a career as a head-end technician at Comcast, where his analytical skills and dedication to excellence were highly valued. His work was not just a job but a reflection of his commitment to his community and the people within it.
Ronald's personal life was as rich and fulfilling as his professional endeavors. He found love and companionship with his wife, Connie (Briggs) Nemes, and together they built a life filled with joy and mutual respect. His family included his stepdaughter, Kimberly (Sid) Sherwood of Elkhart, IN, and stepson, Michael (Laura) Briggs of Greenwood, IN. Ronald's role as a grandfather to Michael, Anna, Madison, and Kole, and as a great-grandfather to Jayden, was one of his greatest joys. His love for his family was boundless, and the wisdom he imparted to them will be cherished for generations to come.
Ronald's sisters, Connie Rutledge of Niles, MI, and Crystal (Todd) Kress of Bremen, IN, will remember their brother for his unwavering support and the countless memories they shared.
Beyond his family and work, Ronald had a passion for the great outdoors. He loved music, which was a source of solace and inspiration throughout his life. His adventurous spirit led him to mountain climbing and hiking, pursuits that allowed him to experience the beauty of nature and the thrill of the climb.
Ronald Lee Nemes will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the way he lived his life—with kindness, a sharp mind, and a selfless heart. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his memory will be a guiding light for his family and friends.
