Terry Louis Hodges

Terry Louis Hodges

July 27, 1954 ~ March 20, 2025 70 Years Old

It is with profound sorrow and a sense of deep loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Terry Louis Hodges on March 20, 2025. A native son of South Bend, Indiana, born on July 27, 1954, Terry was a beacon of light, a source of strength and inspiration for those fortunate to have known him.

Terry was a highly respected and dedicated counselor at the St. Joseph County Juvenile Detention Center, where he devoted his career to mentoring and guiding young lives towards a path of righteousness and personal growth. His dedication was unmatched, and his compassionate spirit was always visible. He was an alumnus of Indiana State University, from where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Science. His immense contribution to society, reflected in the success stories of the many lives he touched, will forever be remembered.

Terry was never married but was a beloved figure within his family. He is survived by his daughter Christina Hodges, sister, McIver (Peggy) Hodges, and sister-in-law, Mother Clara Hodges. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Christine Hodges, brothers; Luster, Paul Hodges, and Supt. Jesse L. Hodges and sisters; Grace Roberts, Earnestine Hodges, Leah Hodges, and Patricia Hodges.

Terry gave in death, as he gave in life. Terry was an organ and tissue donor. His family is thankful he was able to be an organ donor and give the gift of life to many others. Terry's loved ones have ensured his legacy will live on through organ and/or tissue donation. Terry will touch countless others as the family members, friends and communities of those who receive his donated organs and tissue will be forever impacted by their improved quality of life, made possible through these selfless gifts.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, we also celebrate his life, cherishing the precious memories we hold in our hearts. We invite everyone who knew Terry to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page. In this way, we can remember Terry not just for his accomplishments, but for the human being he was - kind, compassionate, and full of life. His legacy will live on through all the lives he touched, and while we may be grieving, we also rejoice in having known such a beautiful soul.
