SOUTH BEND - Clark L. Mawson, 51, of Marion Ave., died at 8:04 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 22, 1955, in South Bend, to Les and Rita (Oswald) Mawson. His parents preceded him in death.
On October 27, 1996, in South Bend, he married Diana (Hoff) Swartz. She survives, along with his daughter, Anne (Byron) Smith of Mishawaka; and his son, Andrew (Rebecca) Mawson of Mishawaka. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Deanna Swartz of South Bend and Julie (Billy) Maynard of Niles; and a stepson, Jim (Sara) Swartz of Mishawaka. He leaves to his memory eight grandchildren, Bowen and Byron Smith, Bethany, Brianna and Alyssa Mawson and Brandon, Bailey Swartaz and Cody Maynard; and his brother, Les (Sue) Mawson of Delaware, OH, and Rob Mawson of Portland, OR.
Clark loved NASCAR and nature and animals, and he dearly loved his grandchildren.
Clark was honorably discharged from the Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, with Rev. Ed Erskin officiating. Cremation will take place.
Friends will be received in the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the time of services. Memorial contributions in memory of Clark may be made to the family.
