Gordon Alan “Mik” Perry
November 20, 1948 ~ March 10, 2025
Gordon A. "Mik" Perry, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10th. Born on November 20th, 1948, in South Bend, IN, to Cecil and Lillian Perry, Mik was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Mik was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lillian Perry, and his brother, Daniel Perry. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories with his Aunt, Mary Jo Acrey (Chuck); his nieces, Julie (Ross) Smith of Granger and Jodie (Kenny) Russell of Granger; his nephew, Spencer (Brianna) Perry of Mishawaka; and his sister-in-law, Sara Perry of Mishawaka. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mik's circle of friends, who were like family to him, included Jerry, Bill, Dave, and Tony, among many others.
A proud graduate of Riley High School, Mik furthered his education at Indiana University of South Bend. His academic excellence was highlighted by his participation in the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages for Indiana High School students. Fluent in German, Mik shared his love for the language with his father during their travels to Germany. His unique tradition of singing "Happy Birthday" in German to loved ones will be fondly remembered.
Mik's life was filled with simple joys and meaningful connections. He loved reminiscing about the good old times, playing cards with friends, collecting, and engaging in late-night phone conversations. Mik was always the first to welcome new neighbors, making everyone feel at home.
Mik's kindness, and unwavering friendship will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of a service, friends and family are asked to think of Mik and join together to remember their times with him, celebrating his life through shared memories and stories.
