Merikay (Schumaker) Daugherty

Merikay Daugherty, 70, of North Baltimore, passed away at 10:14 p.m., Tuesday May 14, 2019, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born on August 19, 1948, in South Bend, IN to the late Robert and Donna (Hively) Schumaker. She married Thomas A. Daugherty on September 20, 1975, and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2005. Merikay is survived by her son, Dustyn Daughtery of North Baltimore; her daughter, Melynda Daughtery of North Baltimore; her brother, Bruce (Carla) Schumaker of South Bend, IN; her sisters: Kathe (Lonnie) Graham of Osage, AK and Lynne (Ray) Jones of Osceola, IN; her grandchildren: Monique Altvater, Chance Daugherty, Daria Daugherty and Isabella Daugherty; her great-granddaughter, Mei Seibert.

Merikay was a former Cafeteria Supervisor for Arnold Vending. She had been a longtime member of the former Deweyville Church of God and had previously been active with the Brethren Volunteer Service.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
