Stephen E. Young, 66, of South Bend, IN passed away at 9:26 a.m. Wednesday. December 2, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 9, 1949 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Sam Brooks and Agnes Lenez (Fisher) Young.
Stephen is survived by his children, Naomi Young of New Carlisle, IN, Nadine Young of South Bend, IN, Jermery Young of Colorado Springs, CO and Jimmy Young of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren, Nadia, Adonis, Analea, Lidia and Armondo; two sisters, Vicki (John) Bachmann of Chapel Hill, NC and Kay (Rick) Patterson of Mishawaka, IN; three brothers, Terry D. Young, Sam R. Young and Alan B. (Beth) Young, all of South Bend, IN; companion, Sabrina Caron of South Bend, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Stephen lived most of his life in South Bend. He was a graduate of the Riley High School Class of 1967. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received a National Defense Service Medal, 2 O/S Bars, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 bronze stars and Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.
The family will gather privately at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family.
