Daniel Strzelecki
November 17, 1953 - March 12, 2025
Daniel Strzelecki, age 71, of Stevensville passed away on Wednesday, March 12 after a lengthy battle with heart disease that limited his physical abilities but not his spirit or outlook on life.
Dan was born on November 17, 1953, in South Bend, IN to Frank and Lucille Strzelecki. He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He then moved to Michigan and began working for Indiana Michigan Power as an electrical engineer. Dan was also a part of the team that designed and maintained the Cook Nuclear Warning System.
Dan and his wife Judy raised their four children and Dan loved being a father. He volunteered to coach youth baseball, rocket football teams, and soccer teams that his kids were a part of. There were several memorable pool parties thrown for the baseball team at the end of their season, win or lose.
Dan will be remembered by his wife, Judy; children, Katherine (Dave) Fanjoy, Karen (Ben) Jackson, Kenneth (Maureen) Strzelecki, and Kristine (Jason) Pennington; ten grandchildren, Charlotte, Kade, Natalie, Trevor, Ava, Olivia, Lucie, Cecilia, Hunter and Caleb; sister, Jane Strzelecki; and brother, Robert (Debbie) Strzelecki.
A visitation will be held at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 16 ending with a Words of Remembrance Service. A graveside service will be on Monday, March 17 at 11:30 at St. Joseph’s Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery, 24980 IN-2, South Bend, IN 46619. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Dan please consider making a donation to an animal shelter of your choice.
