Barbara Ann Hahn (Dickey)

Barbara Ann (Hahn) Dickey

April 2, 1944 - July 2, 2026

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Barbara Ann (Hahn) Dickey, 82 of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, who departed peacefully at her home on July 2nd, 2026. She was born to George and Olive (Bosler) Hahn on April 2nd,1944 in South Bend, Indiana and was the youngest of two children. Barb lived much of her life in South Bend graduating from Riley High School and attending Indiana University before marrying Doyle Dickey in 1965. Together, she and Doyle raised their two sons to be hardworking, honest, and faithful; always instilling in them the belief that “anything was possible.”

Barb was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was always at the ready for whatever her family and friends needed and often without anyone even asking. Or maybe it would be a special trip planned with each grandchild complete with a picture book of memories to last a lifetime. She was cherished deeply by all and will not be forgotten for her kindness and generosity that touched the lives of so many.

Barb worked at Key Bank as a Teller for over 15 years before retiring and relocating to South Carolina in 2012. Although she missed her friends and family in Indiana, Barb found warmth and welcome in South Carolina, quickly making new friends and embracing her new community. She cherished her friendships and found great joy in her church, where she faithfully attended and participated in the senior women’s Sunday school class. Barb was pleased with the class’s commitment to the Lord and valued their fellowship deeply. “I’ll get my Prayer Warriors on it” she would say each time she heard of someone in need of God’s strength. Barb also loved her social time and was an avid card player, enjoying games with her friends at the Chesnee Community Center.

Barb is survived by her sister Georgia (and Ray) Hamilton, of Grainger, IN, her sons, Martin (and Becky) Dickey of Greenwood, IN, and Michael (and Ann) Dickey of Spartanburg, SC. She was also a proud grandmother to five surviving grandchildren Tyler, Katelyn, Chelsey, Lauren, and Logan, eleven great grandchildren, honorary grandmother to Joy Lacey, and a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents George and Olive and loving husband Doyle.

Barb's spirit, warmth, and commitment to her family, friends, church, and community will be remembered with love and gratitude. Honoring her wishes, the family will celebrate Barb’s life privately, and no public services are planned. Our thoughts are with all who loved Barb during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church, Lake Bowen Baptist Church (LBBC).
