Mary F. (Jones) Walker
December 12, 1954 ~ December 17, 2025
Mary F. Walker, 71, of Cromwell, IN (formerly South Bend) went peacefully to meet our Lord on December 17, 2025.
She was born on December 23, 1935 in Burr Oak, IN to Floyd and Etta (Warner) Jones. Mary graduated from Riley High School in South Bend in 1954.
In her youth she enjoyed summers at Lake Michigan.
She married Edgar Walker December 12, 1954 and was a loving and devoted mother to their 4 children. Mary initially worked for the telephone company in South Bend and then various retail positions.
Throughout her life she was consistent in her daily devotions. As a young mother she enjoyed sewing, square dancing, family camping and vacations to various destinations in several states. Later she enjoyed ceramics, reading and crocheting. After their move in 1989 to Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, IN, Mary and Ed attended Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.
Mary is survived by her husband of 71 years Edgar Walker; her children Deborah (Michael) Evans of Osceola, IN, Karen Graves of Aliquippa, PA, Greg (Carolin) Walker of Osceola, IN and Brian Walker of Cromwell, IN; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother Charles (Pam) Jones of Winter Haven, FL, sister Jeanette Stradley of Cape Coral, FL; many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Clarise Thrasher.
A visitation hour will be held at 11:00am prior to the service at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel located at 3910 N. Main Street Mishawaka, IN. The service will be officiated by Pastor Brad Cox of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel. The burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Mishawaka, IN.
