Linda Lou (Chapman) Ingram
December 8, 1942 ~ March 20, 2025
Linda Lou Ingram, 82, formerly of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on March 20th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born on December 8th, 1942, to parents LaVerne O. and Esther B. Chapman in Mishawaka, Indiana. As a youth, Linda was an exquisite ballerina and tap dancer as well as an exceptional student. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in 1961 before studying education at Indiana University. She later went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Education at Indiana University following the birth of her children. Linda taught elementary school for almost 30 years. Following her retirement, Linda served as a substitute teacher and taught an art class at the Boys and Girls Club of America in Frankfort, Indiana.
Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed reading any intriguing mystery story she could get her hands on, relaxing on the pier by the lake, listening to music, playing card games, caring for her pugs, and gardening. Most of all, she valued spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents - LaVerne O. and Esther B. Chapman, her husband - Bryce Ingram, former husband - Samuel Conkright Jr., and her brother - Jack Chapman.
Linda is survived by her daughter - Kelley (Jeff) Gnodtke, her son - Kevin Conkright, grandchildren - Sydney (Jeremy) Williamson, Mackenzie Vazquez, Halle Gnodtke, Hanna Gnodtke, Sarah Lowe McCorkle, and a great grandson - Hector Vazquez III.
Linda is also survived by her sister-in-law - Sharon Chapman, nephew - Eric Chapman, and nieces - Kim Leitch and Robbin Chapman.
Honoring Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life is being arranged by her family.
