Barbara Ann (Harman) Davis
February 24, 1943 ~ September 2, 2024 (age 81)
Barbara Ann Davis, 81, of South Bend, passed away during the early morning hours of Monday September 2nd in the company of her loving family.
Barbara was born on February 24, 1943 in South Bend to Frederick Harman and Vivian L. (Foster) Harman. She retired from Holy Cross Health Claims where she was employed as a claims processor. She married Robert A. Davis on June 28, 1974. He preceded her in death in 2009. Barb was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, she enjoyed traveling, she became an auxillary member of American Legion Post # 284, she enjoyed the outdoors be it camping with family and friends to tending to her garden. She was an animal lover, yet her greatest joy came from being with her loving family.
Barb is survived by her loving children, Denise A. (Tim) Swift of Granger, Christine M. (Robert) Warren of South Bend, Scott A. (Christine) Banke of Osceola and Steven E. (Charity) Banke of South Bend, two step-daughters, Louann (Ernie) Schroeder and Tina (David) Stout of South Bend. She was the proud grandmother of 18 and the great grandmother of 11. Barbara is also survived by her brother, James (Cathy) Harman of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Harman and Vivian Woods, her husband, Robert and her two step-sons, Michael (Stephanie) Davis and Christopher Davis.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, September 10th from 11:00am until 1:00pm in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 State Rd. 23, South Bend. A service honoring Barb’s life will be held at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to Pet Refuge, 4626 S. Brunett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614.
