Ex-Resident, Son Killed in Collision.

Mrs. Susan Townsley, 29, a former South Bend resident and her 20-month-old son, Cary, were killed Friday in a two-car crash in Jacksonville, Fla. where the family resides.

Mrs. Townsley was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pearson, former South Bend residents. She graduated from Riley High School and Indiana University.

A daughter, Amy, six months, was seriously injured in the wreck and is hospitalized in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Townsley is survived by her parents, her husband, Leslie, a son, Mark , 5, her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Farkas, of South Bend, an uncle, Paul Pearson, and two aunts, Mrs. Ernest Jordan and Mrs. Joseph Troutman, all of South Bend.

The Pearsons and their family moved from South Bend to Florida about seven years ago.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

TOWNSLEY – Services for Mrs. Susan Townsley, 29, formerly of South Bend, and her son, Cary, 20 months, both of whom were killed Friday in a two-car crash in Jacksonville, FL where the family resides, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Hardage and Sons Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Jacksonville. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Pamela Basney, of Jacksonville.

 

They were killed January 5, 1973.
