William Frederick Bloom
February 14, 1941 ~ May 1, 2025
William F. Bloom, 84 years old, passed away at 1:18 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Healthpark Medical Center, Fort Myers, FL. His loving wife, Carol, was by his side. Bill was born on February 14,1941 in South Bend to the late Mitchell F. and Bernice P. (Brown) Bloom. Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, James L. Bloom. On April 8, 1967 in South Bend, Bill and Carol Ann Cseh were united in marriage.
Along with Carol, his loving wife of 58 years, Bill is survived his sister, Patricia Shoemaker of Fairview, PA; sister-in-law, Kathy Cseh of South Bend, IN; nieces and nephews; Bonnie (Bruce) Kern of Fairview, PA, Michael (Sue) Shoemaker of San Tan Valley, AZ, Mark (Chris) Bloom of Dandridge, TN, James Bloom of Bremen, IN, Michael (Deb) Cseh of South Bend, IN, Deb (Scott) Kirkpatrick of South Bend, IN, and John Cseh of Las Vegas, NV. Bill is also survived by many great nieces and nephews who he dearly loved and who thought the world of him.
A native of South Bend, IN and a 1959 graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School, Bill attended Ball State University and Indiana University-South Bend. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1963-1969 and was honorably discharged as a Sgt. E-5 on September 14, 1969.
Bill worked in the beverage industry in the sales and marketing department. In 1972, Bill relocated to LaCrosse, WI with the acquisition of Drewrys, Ltd/Associated Brewing Company by G. Heileman Brewing Company. With Heileman, he was a Brand Manager and Director of Marketing Services prior to being relocated to the Chicago area in 1985 as Regional Sales Director, a position he held until 1987. Bill retired as Vice President-Sales from Southwest Beer Distributors, Inc., Crestwood, IL in August 2002.
Bill and Carol moved to Sister Lakes, MI in 1996, where Bill served on the Keeler Planning Commission and was a volunteer Van Buren County, MI Reserve Officer. Since 2020, they have remained in Fort Myers, FL. Throughout his life, Bill continued to enjoy golfing and boating, and was always a masterful story teller.
A service to celebrate the life of Bill Bloom will be scheduled in South Bend at a later date, time and day to be announced. He will be laid to rest in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
