Michael A. Bayman

July 20, 1945 — September 28, 2025

McCordsville

Michael A. Bayman passed away on September 28, 2025, in central Indiana. Mike, as his family and friends knew him, was born on July 20, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana to the late John C. Bayman and D’Ann (Swanson) Bayman.

On June 29, 1968, he married the love of his life Judith L. Bayman (nee Harding). He is survived by his wife Judith; daughter Deborah (Gregory) Abbott and their children Rebecca (her daughter Shyloh King), David, Isabella, and Arianna Romero, Colby and Logan Abbott; and son Gregory (Pollyanna) Bayman and their children Jonah, Annabelle, Elijah, and Isaiah. Other survivors include his siblings Tricia Bayman, Jeffrey Bayman, and J. Chris (Wendy) Bayman, sister-in-law Catherine Cockle, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mike lived most of his life in northern and central Indiana, with a twelve-year interlude at the end of his career in South Carolina. He graduated from Riley High School in South Bend in 1963, earned a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in 1967, and a Master of Business Administration in 1971 from Ball State University. He spent a decade following graduation as an engineer for Westinghouse and the rest of his career he followed in his grandfather’s footsteps in the electroplating industry. He was an industry expert and managing engineer, recognized by his peers with an industry association merit award in 2010, and named an honorary lifetime board member.

Strong in his faith and dedicated to his family, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was committed to sharing Jesus with all who would listen. He loved learning, reading, bible study, sports, and great music. He would immerse himself in the passions of his family. His warm smile, joyful demeanor, and family’s faith are his legacy. A faithful servant, he is now in the presence of his Savior.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will take place at 12pm, on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250).
