Roland Eugene "Butch" Halterman

Roland Eugene "Butch" Halterman, 81, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on July 23, 2024. Born on September 21, 1942, in Mishawaka.

Butch graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School and soon after enlisted in the Army.

Following his military career, Butch worked at Wheelabrator Manufacturing. He later transitioned to a role in security at Blue Chip Casino, where he continued to demonstrate his dedication and reliability until his retirement.

Butch is survived by his sister, Gail VanTuyle; his children, Anthony Halterman, Shelly Bratschi, and Kimberly Mitchell; and his cherished grandchildren, Austin, Dominick, Kayli, Ethan Halterman, Sydney and Christopher Nikrant, Dustin and Zachary Robb, Emily and Jaxson Mitchell. He also leaves behind his niece and nephew, Carrie Spell and Buddy VanTuyle. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Dale Halterman, and his great-nephew, Vincent Vantuyle.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial service. Elkhart Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Butch's legacy of service, both in the military and in his community, will be remembered by all who knew him.
